Application and Enrollment Information

Thank you for your interest in Richland Academy. Our annual new student registration day is held the second Saturday in March from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm. After registration day, students will be accepted for late enrollment on a space-available basis at any time throughout the year.

Our admission process serves several important purposes. It allows the parent to become better acquainted with our mission, values, and practices. Likewise, it provides us with the opportunity to learn about your expectations and goals for your child’s education. Our admission process also gives families who are new to Montessori an introduction to the philosophy and methods of Montessori Education.

Richland Academy’s admission procedure is as follows:

  • Tour A tour gives parents the opportunity to see our classrooms, meet our staff, and ask questions about our programs. A tour may be scheduled by calling the school for an appointment.
  • Observation After touring our facility, we recommend parents set up a classroom observation. This will allow parents to gain insight into the practical application of the Montessori Method of Education as the observer views children working naturally within the classroom environment.
  • Application A completed application for admission and a non-refundable registration fee should be submitted as soon as the enrollment decision is made. Enrollment priority is given to currently enrolled students, siblings of currently enrolled students, students who had previously attended our school, siblings of alumni, families enrolling more than one child to any program, families with children requiring all day care, and then to children from the community (in that order). The date of the application is also considered in the enrollment process.
  • Admission Decision Families will be notified of student acceptance at the end of the admission process or shortly thereafter. If accepted, parents will receive additional paperwork necessary to complete the enrollment process.

Tuition payments for the academic programs will be made in ten monthly installments, August through May.
